Durand caught in a lie

Postby Joe » Fri Feb 10, 2012 9:02 pm

At the meeting tonight, a resident asked Paul Durand why he not told him that there was going to be a meeting tonight. He had that conversation "last friday afternoon", which would have been February 3rd.

Paul Durand told him because a meeting had not been scheduled at the time he spoke with him, and had been set later. When questioned on it, he stuck to his story, going so far as to say it was scheduled later in the day on Friday.

The reality is, an email went out to parents only in the school district on TUESDAY, JANUARY 31st - 3 days before the conversation, inviting people to the meeting.

The choices are simple. Either Paul Durand knowingly lied to the resident, or is so incompetent he doesn't know what his own staff are doing (since HE was supposed to be the speaker at the meeting!)

Just found out how much we're paying this guy ... now I'm REALLY sick!

http://www.winonapost.com/stock/functions/VDG_Pub/detail.php?choice=36385&home_page=&archives=1

District 861 paid $133,591 to Durand for the 2009-2010 school year, a base rate of pay that will jump to $141,100 his first year in Rockford. Each year of his contract, Durand will also be eligible for performance bonuses on Smart Goals, goals set with measurable outcomes. If Durand achieves the goals set out, in three years he will be making $151,204 at Rockford.

Other perks of the contract include a moving allowance, a $15,000 per year discretionary marketing fund, $4,000 annually for professional development, a $675 per month car allowance, $3,500 annually for attendance at professional conferences and meetings, and 25 days per year of paid vacation.

And that doesn't even count the normal benefits package!

Yeah .. this school district really knows how to be responsible with money!
